Entry to the country with dogs and/or cats
The Consulate General does not participate in procedures for entering Argentina with pets or other types of animals. The following information guides those interested to contact the appropriate institutions.
In Argentina, the authority responsible for the entry of animals accompanied by their owners is SENASA, so its instructions must be followed as they appear on the corresponding official website. In general terms, individuals who wish to enter Argentina with domestic dogs and/or cats (Canis lupus familiaris and Felis silvestris catus, respectively) must have the International Veterinary Certificate (CVI) or an official legalized Passport.
Foreign documentation must be properly legalized/apostilled.
To obtain the Hague Apostille for Australian documentation, refer to the DFAT website.
Observation regarding other animals
For information on regulations concerning the introduction of exotic domestic animals, contact the National Service of Agri-Food Health and Quality (SENASA).
