The Consulate General of Argentina in Sydney, jointly with Instituto Cervantes Sídney and Sydney Writers Festival presents: “Mariana Enriquez en Conversación”

Join award-winning Argentine author for a special conversation in Spanish! Heralded as the queen of Latin American gothic horror, Mariana Enríquez has thrilled readers in Argentina and beyond. Explore how Mariana blends the supernatural and socio-political in this Spanish language conversation with Luke Stegemann. Captioned English translation will be available.

We await you on Wednesday the 21st of May, between 7:30PM-8:30PM at the State Library of NSW!

  • "Mariana Enríquez: Mastering the Macabre" (May 24th, 2025). The Argentine writer will talk with Carody Culver about her inspiration for her short stories "The Perils of Smoking in Bed," "Our Share of Night," and "A Sunny Place for Shady People." Event in English.
