Productive Investment Opportunities Database (BaPIP)

The Productive Investment Opportunities Database (BaPIP for its acronym in Spanish) is an investment project database designed to complement the proactive role of the Undersecretariat for Investment Development and Trade Promotion in fostering FDI in Argentina. Its main purpose is to help connect potential investors from around the world with the wide range of investment opportunities that exist in Argentina.

The BaPIP is a strategic unit developed by the Undersecretariat that channels the results of its ongoing search for investment projects nationwide, an effort spearheaded in coordination with national ministries, provincial governments and the business community. Projects are submitted by project owners, private-sector intermediate entities or government organizations acting in the country and/or with technical skills related to the investment project (sponsoring institution).

BaPIP’s main tool is its website where project stakeholders can upload projects online using a dynamic and standardized form designed to ensure that the project’s key business plan variables are addressed. They include project owner; sponsoring institution, if any; economic sector; location; purpose of the investment; total amount of the investment; capital requirement; current stage of the project; and investment destination. Interested parties can register for free with BaPIP to receive more detailed information about the project.

BaPIP ensures investors have all the key variables to conduct an initial project evaluation. In addition to project specifics, BaPIP offers the investment community a complete panoramic view of the investment opportunities across multiple sectors and throughout the entire country.

BaPIP facilitates investment generation and the search for investment partners through three main channels: ongoing promotion online; direct actions carried out by the Argentine representations abroad; and, investment missions.
