Commemoration of the 214th Anniversary of the May Revolution of 1810. Cultural Event at the Sydney Opera House.

On May 11th, 2024, and within the framework of the commemoration of the “214th Anniversary of the May Revolution of 1810”, the cultural event “From the Andes to Buenos Aires” took place at the Sydney Opera House.

The Vice Lord Mayor of the city of Sydney, Councilor Robert Kok, the Dean of the Consular Corps accredited in New South Wales, the Consul General of Malta, Lawrence Buhagiar, the Consul General of Brazil, the Emb. Jorge Kadri, Consul General of Peru, Eliana Beraum, attended the event, together witth members of the Argentine community and the general public.

The show featured introductory words from Consul General Silvina Aguirre, followed by a wide repertoire of songs by national artists such as Carlos Gardel, Astor Piazzola, León Gieco, Aníbal Troilo and Homero Manzi, among others, which were performed by soprano Ayşe Göknur Shanal, the musicians Rodolfo Caivano (bandoneon), Keiran Sawyer (guitar), Ashley Hribar (piano) and the tango dancers Karina and Fabián Conca, under the creative direction of the Argentine Gabriel González.
