On July 7th, we participated in a celebration for the 208th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of 1816, organized by the Argentine community residing in the State of New South Wales, at the NSW SLASA (New South Wales Spanish and Latin) community center American Association for Social Assistance Inc.), located in the town of Bonnyrig.
During the event, the verses of the Argentine national anthem were sung and the Consul General, Silvina Aguirre, offered opening remarks highlighting the importance for our country of the commemoration of Independence Day and the importance of celebrations organized spontaneously by the community. Argentine resident in Australia, to keep Argentine customs and traditions alive.
The event featured numerous traditional Argentine music shows, such as folklore and tango, where Los Sureños and Beatriz Diaz and Alvaro Folladosa participated. Likewise, during the meeting, typical national foods were tasted.
