On May 26th, the Consul General participated in the "2025 Queensland Consular Corp Briefing," which took place in Brisbane.
Speakers included the Premier of Queensland and Minister for Veterans, the Hon. David Crisafulli; the Director-General of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Mr. Damien Walker; the State Director of DFAT, Ms. Trudy McGowan OAM; the DFAT Chief of Protocol, Mr. Jonathan Muir; the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Sport, Racing, and Olympic and Paralympic Games, Ms. Eugénie Buckley; the Executive General Manager of Infrastructure of the Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority, Mr. Damon Hall; and the Acting Commissioner of the Queensland Police Service, Mr. Shane Chelepy APM.
The occasion provided an opportunity to discuss the impact of migration flows, the work carried out by consulates, and the policies being implemented at the state level, among other things, related to the 2032 Olympic Games.
